Measure L
Measure L is a one-half cent transaction and use tax that was approved by Stanislaus County voters in November of 2016. The tax went into effect on April 1, 2017, and will be in effect through March 31, 2042. The Stanislaus Council of Governments (StanCOG) administers the proceeds revenues and deposits them in a special fund to be used solely for transportation projects.
City of Turlock receives Local Control Funds to be used for local streets and roads, traffic management, and bike and pedestrian improvements as well as Transit Provider funds to be used for transit services. More specifically, the City uses the funds for road maintenance, traffic safety enhancements, connectivity improvements, and congestion reduction. Measure L funding is used whenever possible to leverage future local, state, and federal grant opportunities. The City utilizes funds for all phases of project implementation, including planning, environmental studies, permits, design, right-of-way, and construction.
