The firefighting professionals and staff of the Turlock Fire Department (TFD) are proud to serve the citizens of the City of Turlock in Stanislaus County. Turlock is geographically located in the center of the San Joaquin Valley of California. It is the second largest City in Stanislaus County and is located along the Highway 99 corridor.

Responding to approximately 7,000 calls for service each year (from 4 Fire Stations), TFD is a high-performance fire department. In terms of critical infrastructure, TFD is the emergency service provider for a number of high-hazard occupancies, including commercial processing facilities; 1 hospital with an emergency department; the Stanislaus County Fair Grounds; and California State University Stanislaus, with a student population of more than 9,000 on a 228-acre campus.

Turlock Firefighters and Cal OES Strike Team #OES4817A assisting with firing operations on the #CampFire last night in #ButteCounty.

Our firefighters on OES E339 have been deployed for more than a week and work 24 hour shifts. The crew was off today to rest and resupply, but they will be back on the line again tomorrow. #MutualAid #TFD

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District has extended an Air Quality Alert on November 16th, 2018, due to smoke impacts from surrounding wildfires for San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, and the valley portion of Kern Counties.

The Turlock Fire Department is NOT distributing N-95 Masks. Please take precautions to avoid prolonged smoke exposure and follow the suggestions from Stanislaus County Heath Services.

Turlock Fire continues to have 7 personnel deployed to the #CampFire in Butte County. These firefighters have been deployed for the past week.

4 Firefighters are assigned on OES E339 as part of #OES4817A.

A Battalion Chief is assigned as a Task Force Leader for Task Force #XST4209.

An Engineer is deployed as a Fireline EMT & a Captain is assigned as a PIO.

Several Turlock Firefighters are at the Fresno Training Symposium this week attending various courses. This annual Symposium provides all types of manipulative and didactic courses for firefighters all over California.

One of the courses our personnel attended is an Active Shooter Response course geared toward working with PD, setting up command, and tactics to remove patients during active shooter situations. Turlock Fire remains committed to preparing for all types of incidents we may be called to.

Turlock Firefighters deployed on OES 339 continue their assignment on the #CampFire. Crews work 24 hours shifts on the fireline and today crews were in Division E implementing hoselines, assisting with firing operations, and continuing to the hold established control lines.

Turlock Fire placed two new Holmatro Greenline EVO3 Extrication Tools in-service this week. They replace our current SCRT units which are 15 years old.

These Battery operates Extrication Tools are are used to remove victims from damaged vehicles. They are combination cutter & spreader units which have been placed on Engines 31 & 33.

These units are in addition to the hydraulically powered heavy Extrication equipment carried on Squad 32 and Engine 34.

Turlock Firefighters have deployed to the #CampFire in Butte County as part of OES Strike Team #OES4817A.

This Type 1 OES Strike Team is comprised of 5 Engines and a Strike Team Leader from Lathrop Manteca Fire District, Tracy Fire Department - South County Fire Authority, Manteca City Fire, Woodbridge Fire District, and Turlock City Fire. The Strike Team is currently working in the town of #Paradise.
