FATAL VEHICLE VS. PEDESTRIAN COLLISION

On Monday, November 30, 2020, at approximately 5:21 p.m., Turlock Police Officers responded to a call of an injury collision in the 1100 block of North Golden State Boulevard.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered a 52-year old Hispanic male had suffered major injuries as a result of being struck by a vehicle traveling south on North Golden State Boulevard. Life saving measures were performed at the scene by officers. The patient was revived on scene and transported to a local area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation revealed that the driver of a 1994 Ford van struck the 52-year old male as he was walking westbound across North Golden State Boulevard. The driver of the van remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. At this point in the investigation, speed, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision.

The Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) was notified and responded to the scene to take over the investigation. This investigation caused road closures for approximately five hours while investigators examined and collected evidence.

The identity of the 52-year old male is not being released at this time, as the next of kin have yet to be located and notified.
