PRESS RELEASE: We Care Statement

At the March 25 City Council meeting, the Council asked We Care to provide restroom access seven days a week. As a firm commitment was not made, the item was tabled to allow additional time for a solution. Although the Mayor was informed prior to the April 8 meeting that a plan had been developed, it was not presented, and the Council voted against the item.

On April 18, We Care notified the City of their decision to open restrooms daily. In response, the Mayor called for a special Council meeting, but a quorum could not be reached to take action.

At this point, the City considers this matter concluded and will continue pursuing other solutions to support downtown stakeholders and address community impacts.
