PRESS RELEASE: Traffic Collison Fatality

On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the Turlock Police Department received a call of a solo vehicle rollover collision in the 4000 block of West Linwood Avenue. As officers responded to the scene, it was reported that the vehicle was on fire and the solo occupant was able to get out of the vehicle.

The driver, identified as 40 year-old Brandi Kane, sustained extensive injuries from the collision but was not burned. Kane was airlifted to a local area hospital where she became unresponsive and succumbed to her injuries.

Two dogs were riding inside the vehicle with Kane when the collision occurred. One dog died in the collision and the second was humanly euthanized due to injuries directly resulting from the collision.

The Turlock Police Department is in the early stages of investigating this collision and it is unknown if speed, alcohol, or drugs were a factor. The roadway was closed for just under two hours while officers investigated this incident.
