Friday, July 9, 2021

FATAL COLLISION

On Friday, July 9, 2021, at approximately 8:56 am, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer that had been rear-ended by a motorcyclist in the 4000 block of West Main Street.  Officers responded to the scene and discovered the motorcyclist had died and life saving measures were not possible.  The motorcyclist is described as a white male adult in his thirties.  The identity of the motorcyclist is not being released until the male can be positively identified and next of kin notified. 
 
The driver of the tractor trailer remained on scene and is cooperating with this investigation.  He was not injured. 
 
The Turlock Police Department is in the early stages of investigating this collision, however, Investigators can say that speed was a factor in this incident.  It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved. 
 
The roadway was closed for nearly three hours while Officers investigated this incident.  At this time, the Turlock Police Department has not received any calls of anyone who witnessed this collision.
