Look what rolled in yesterday… 🚲🚲🚲 new bikes for our Bike Patrol Unit! Bike Patrol is used during special events or for where there are large crowds that make it difficult for a patrol vehicle to get through. Officers on bikes have a higher vantage point to see above the crowd and can travel faster through the crowd on a bike vs walking/running. 🚴 🚴

If you see officers out on bike patrol, be sure to say hi 👋 and snap a 📸 and tag us! @turlockpolice (hint hint: holiday shopping is just around the corner! 🛍 🎁)

PRESS RELEASE: HUMAN TRAFFICKING VICTIM RESCUED - SUSPECT ARRESTED

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, Investigators with the Turlock Police Department Special Investigations Unit (S.I.U.) received information from the Santa Clara Police Department of a possible juvenile human trafficking victim that was believed to be frequenting the Turlock area. The juvenile was considered to be high risk based on the circumstances in the missing person report.

S. I. U. Investigators immediately began collaborating with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department in an attempt to locate the juvenile, who was believed to be located somewhere within the city of Turlock or surrounding area.

Through the course of the two-day investigation, Investigators and Detectives worked tirelessly to locate the whereabouts of the juvenile victim.

On Thursday, October 7, 2021, S.I.U. Investigators were able to pinpoint the location of the human trafficking victim, in the 100 block of North Tully Road, and safely rescue the juvenile.

Investigators on the scene located additional evidence of the victim being trafficked. Angelo Gabriel Fuentes, 22 years, resident of Hayward, was interviewed and arrested. He was transported and booked at the Stanislaus County Jail on charges of human trafficking, child cruelty, furnishing marijuana to a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The juvenile victim was released to Child Protective Services and arrangements are being made to safely return the victim home.

If you believe someone is a victim of human trafficking, contact your local police department or the National Human Trafficking Hotline at (888) 373-7888, by text at 233733, TTY: 711, or https://humantraffickinghotline.org/

PRESS RELEASE: SEARCH WARRANT LEADS TO SEIZURE OF NEARLY 1,900 MARIJUANA PLANTS VALUED AT OVER ONE MILLION DOLLARS

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at approximately 8:55 am, Investigators with the Special Investigations Unit (S.I.U.) and Detectives with the Turlock Police Department served a search warrant in the 2800 block of Lassiter Lane, which is located in a commercial area of the city of Turlock.

The search warrant yielded just under 1,900 marijuana plants which weighed over 1,100 pounds. The street value of the seized marijuana is estimated to be over one million dollars.

While serving the search warrant, Investigators discovered that the electrical wiring to the structure had been modified to facilitate the use of the large amount of electricity needed to power this large operation.

This remains an on-going investigation, while S.I.U. Investigators attempt to identify the individuals responsible. Once identified, they will face charges of marijuana cultivation and sales.

Turlock Police Department Captain Steven Williams said, “This type of illegal marijuana cultivation operation poses a clear danger to first responders and neighboring businesses. The extensive modification of the wiring to the structure could have overloaded the system and started a fire. Additionally, lives were endangered from the possibility of being electrocuted.”

The Turlock Police Department asks that anyone with information about this investigation to call Investigator Alex Jimenez at (209) 668-6518.

You can also contact the Turlock Police Department’s Tip Line at (209) 668-5550 extension 6780 or email at tpdtipline@turlock.ca.us.
