Council Vacancy for District 4
On November 6, 2018, District 4 Council Member Amy Bublak was elected Mayor. This created a vacancy in the position of District 4 Council Member for the remainder of the term expiring in November 2020.On December 11, 2018, at their regularly scheduled meeting, the City Council voted to solicit applications from interested citizens desiring to fill this vacancy and serve the community in this capacity.
The City Council asked interested citizens to complete an application for the vacancy and submit it no later than January 7, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.

District 4 Applications
On January 8, 2019, at their regularly scheduled meeting, the City Council voted to call a Special Meeting for January 28, 2019 to conduct applicant interviews.
Two (2) of the eight (8) applicants withdrew from the consideration process prior to being interviewed.
On January 28, 2019, at a special meeting, the City Council conducted interviews of the applicants for the Council seat vacancy for District 4 and provided direction on the ranking system that would be used at the Special Meeting on February 1, 2019 to appoint a qualified and eligible individual to fill the vacancy.
On February 1, 2019, at a special meeting, a majority of the City Council voted to appoint Ms. Rebecca Arellano to fill the Council seat vacancy for District 4. Following the appointment, the City Clerk administered the Oath of Office to newly appointed Rebecca Arellano as Member, City Council – District 4.
