The Fire Prevention Bureau/Fire Investigation Unit is headquartered in City Hall, 156 S. Broadway, Suite 250. We are open Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00pm. Our telephone number is (209) 668-5580.

The Fire Prevention Bureau and Fire Investigation Unit operate under the direction of the Fire Marshal.
Fire Prevention Bureau
The City of Turlock Fire Prevention Bureau provides many services to the community. These services include: pre-development consultation, fire safety inspections, issuance of fire code permits, and plan review for new construction and fire protection systems.
The bureau administers the Knox Key Safe program, conducts hydrant flow testing, and responds to citizen complaints.
Fire Investigation Unit
The City of Turlock Fire Investigation Unit works to determine the cause and origin of suspicious fires. The unit performs fire scene investigations, collects and maintains evidence, conducts interviews with witnesses and suspects, makes arrests, and files criminal charges with the District Attorney’s office.
