Animal Services
The Animal Services Unit works diligently to serve the public and animals of the City of Turlock in a professional and efficient manner with kindness and compassion. The staff is dedicated to providing education, protection, and the humane treatment of animals in order to insure a safe and healthy community and to promote the benefits of responsible pet ownership.

The Animal Shelter is located at 801 S. Walnut. Open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. Closed Sunday and Holidays. (209) 656-3140.

For emergencies regarding aggressive, sick or injured animals, please call the Turlock Police Department at (209) 668-1200.

PET ADOPTIONS
View animals available for adoption, as well as adoption fees and rules.

LOST & FOUND ANIMALS
View animals that we have found or have been reported as lost by their owners.

MICROCHIPS
Learn about microchip implants, and how they can help return your pet if it gets lost.

DOG PARKS
Our two off-leash dog parks in Turlock for walking, recreation, training, and socialization of dogs.

ANIMAL PROBLEMS
How to deal with dog barking, animal waste, animal bites, too many neighborhood cats, and duck problems.

ANIMAL EDUCATION
Educational presentations for responsible pet ownership and bite prevention.

PET SURRENDER
In the event you must surrender your pet, we may be able to help.

LICENSES & ORDINANCES
Information about licenses and certificates, as well as animal related ordinances.

SPAY / NEUTER INFORMATION
Information about why you should spay/neuter your pet, plus low cost spay/neuter programs in the area.

VOLUNTEER
Whether cleaning cages, socializing animals for placement in new homes or helping to make an event successful, you can be a part of the life-saving work we do.
